Do I need planning permission for a new fence?
In England you can usually put up a fence, wall or gate without planning permission if it is no more than 2 metres high, or no more than 1 metre high where it is next to a road used by vehicles (or the footpath beside it). Different rules apply to listed buildings and some conservation areas, so check with Guildford Borough Council if either applies.
When is the best time to lay new turf?
Turf can be laid for much of the year, but spring and autumn are generally best because the ground is moist and temperatures are mild. Avoid laying on frozen or waterlogged ground, and keep new turf well watered during dry spells while it roots.
Can you landscape my garden at the same time as a new driveway or patio?
